A very happy new year everyone! I've had some questions about my fitness plan for the coming here, so I thought I'd share it on the blog.
I want to go to my target weight of 58 by this summer. Let's see if that's possible.
Added to the DVD, I'm continuing my meal planning. Last week, I was sick, so there were a lot of soups and idlis made by my hubby but we are back to schedule this week.
Some ways in which I'm reducing carbs and increasing my protein intake is by incorporating quinoa in our meals. Since this is new to me, I started with some safe recipes such a quinoa pulao and a quinoa pongal. Both of them turned out very tasty, so I might get a little more adventurous this week.
The next thing is hard to admit - even to myself. Everyone knows how much I hate salads. I did hate them a lot. BUT -
I've been making some really fun salads and they are nothing like the ones that I've had in crappy buffets. I made a wild rice/greens/red onion/mozzarella salad with herb oil. It was freaking amazing. Now I'm fully committed to finding amazing salads and having them for lunch at least twice a week.

Lastly - I bought a some workout stuff from Old Navy. For the 30 minute DVD that I do, I find it quite sufficient. I've also worn it on hikes and walks and found them comfortable and flattering. If you are in need of good, moderately priced workout gear - check out ON. They have 40% off their active wear right now. (I'm not even a little bit sponsored). Some of my favorite workout picks currently -
Again - wishing a very happy and prosperous new year.
