Triple Layer Chocolate Cake!

It was the Hub's birthday yesterday and I baked this really really delicious cake which we both enjoyed quite a lot.

1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1/2 cup chocolate chips
3 tbsps butter and some for the pan
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

Coffee flavoured Chocolate sauce -
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp coffee powder
1/2 cup sugar

Preheat the oven t 350F. Melt the chocolate chips over a double boiler with a little warm water. Add all the ingredients and whisk them together in a bowl. Pour them into a greased cake pan and bake for 30 minutes.

For the sauce between the layers and on the top, melt the chocolate chips and whisk in coffee powder. The coffee powder makes it really rich and flavourful without being bitter. Spread it evenly between layers and on the top. I just made one cake and then cut them into wedges and layered them so we would have a three layered wedge for enough for two people.
Serve topped with some fresh fruit like raspberries.
