Exquisitely detailed...

If an animal print dress strutted down the runway or a sexy lace dress played peek-a-boo, you would bet your money, its Dolce and Gabbana. Imagine my surprise when I see this dress under their collection? A standout stunner with an exquisite print of roses. How would you accessorise it?

The beautiful tapestry- inspired silk printed dress is from Dolce and Gabbana. The print is a rich collection of red roses on a light ivory background. The neckline features multi-coloured rhinestones for an added sparkle. I would accessorise this dress very simply with these rich red nappa leather Valentino pumps and this Belle de Jour clutch from YSL. I wouldn't want to over load the dress with jewellery or any other accessories. How would you wear this dress?

Dolce and Gabbana rose print dress - $2225

Valentino dark red platform pumps - $695

YSL Belle de Jour clutch -  $445

Geek Chic/ Madness...

Geeks and fashion in the same sentence is surprising to most people but being a dentist and a fan of all things geeky, it is only natural that us, geek fashionistas ought to shoe the world something about geek chic.

I came across this "We are all mad here" t-shirt in ThinkGeek, my favourite geek purchase destination. The purple tee with a picture of Alice and the Cat is an embodiment of philosophy in fashion. As your mulling over our mental status, match with the perfect pair of red jeans from Sandro. Purple and red is a wholesome combination in everyway. Pair it with a turquoise bag but if you are a true geek, you probably need a laptop case. Carry along this red, black and blue checked tartan laptop case. As much as you'd like sneaker, do consider these taupe open toed booties from J.Crew to finish your look.

Purple Alice in Wonderland T-Shirt -  $19.99

Sandro red Jeans - $280

Vivienne Westwood laptop case - $130

J.Crew Jamie booties - $250

Primary Color-Blocking...

There is a color-blocking challenge is going on in my favourite blog - Nany's klozet.. I picked this red outfit with blue quirky accessories to make the look a little bohemian.

This beautiful red draped dress with the asymmetrical hem line and a deep back seems like the perfect choice for the quirkiness we need. The gradient straps and the panel draped to the back make the dress floaty and light, as does the midi length. Add in this bright blue turban with the embellishments in the centre. Carry along this bright blue pyramidal clutch with gold hardware, To avoid too much matchy matchy shoes, wear this  tan multi strap sandal with tassels. That would be a boho-chic color-blocking look on trend for this spring. Would you wear this? All items from Asos.

Red midi dress - $86.20

Blue Turban - $13.79

Blue envelope clutch - $31.03

Tan tassled sandals - $60.34

You would have drooled over the Stella McCartney citrus stunner this spring.. Despite the fantastic sale on Net-A-Porter, most of us could hardly afford the citrus beauty.  Cheer up because Zara comes to your rescue.

How slurpy is that.. A simple and beautiful citrus printed top.  As much as I would have like another yummy orange skirt.. I felt a plain white skirt would bring out the print a lot more. A nice forest green low heeled pump with a  cutout overlay compliments the dress perfectly. I couldn't resist the final orange pop with the pretty raffia shopper. All from Zara. A welcome treat for all those thirsty fashionistas, eh?

Fruit printed top - $59.90

White skirt - $39.90

Green cutout shoe - $79.70

Raffia shopper - $39.90

Pastel Princess

Nothing says blissfully happy like pastels. It has an "Everything is perfect in my world" feel to it. Show off your cheer in this beautiful pastel outfit.

Matthew Williamson's beautiful feather printed dress is the perfect summer dress. The dress has splashes of pink, purple and turquoise and is ruched across the body and tailored at the waist. Pair it with these deep turquoise Miu Miu suede pumps. I admit I have a weakness for suede shoes but the texture is perfect with the feather theme of the dress. Carry along this baby pink Marc Jacobs quilted bag to complete the look. Pastel never has to be boring with these kind of pieces.

Matthew Williamson dress - $1225
Miu Miu Suede pumps - $570

Fire and Ice..

Taking fire and ice too literally, this outfit is a quirky combo of orange and silver .. The lustworthy shoes absolutely killed my intention of posting a cheap and chic grunge look.. I will get around to it, I promise, but in the meantime.. Feast your eyes on this..

This stunning leather and suede show from Reed Krakoff is a drama in itself. Instead of donning it with a predictable red/orange dress, go full metallic with this stunning Vivenne Westwood silver creation. The metallic jersey dress is fluid in its look and feel. Pair with this little structured purse from Oryany in a orange and silver combination. Add a Lanvin orange bangle with three rows of rhinestones. A silver looks with pops of orange - a surefire way to light up a party.
Vivienne Westwood metallic jersey dress - $260
Reed krakoff shoes - $795

Devil may care..

I have been playing counterstrike for the past few days and it has made my fashion sense a little violent. Don't be a little startled that this is not a dainty post... its time to bring on the big guns..

Yeah.. Combat time.. Start up with this blood red and sexy to the t blood red Rag and Bone suede and mesh top. Don't be fooled by the simple front cos the back is where the party is. The transparent mesh is held in place by two buckled straps. Heat up the look with these sexy leather leggings from Joseph. I love these sandals with offer such  a twist on the traditional Burberry checks. These are quilted and sky high. Last but definitely not the least, tie in the look with this badass raw finished intrecciato Bottega Veneta with the traditional quilting. What do you think? Good, Bad or Ugly???

Canary time...

My mood has been good despite the rains here so I went looking for some yellow. Not subtle or in accents. In your face bold yellow. I was tempted to make this look monochromatic but I realise not many can pull it off and since this blog tries to inspire people to make designer looks their own, either literally or in spirit, it would have been beside the point.

I started off with this beautiful and simple Tibi top. Its a beautiful canary yellow in a light crepe de chine. The simple top is paired with the beautiful Cruza printed skirt from Zero+MariaCornejo. Taking a cue from the colours of the skirt, pair it with s poppy red Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and a Nancy Gonzalez  croc clutch. Make up your face with a red lippie and you  are all set to strut down the street on trend.

Tibi yellow top - $150

Zero+MariaCornejo skirt - $450

Nancy Gonzalez croc clutch - $1450

Metallic pops..

Clean lines and simple silhouettes can bring out glamour in a way all the frills and ruffles cannot. With my obsession over jackets continuing , this outfit features yet another interesting jacket paired with a simple dress.

This simple Alice + Olivia silver stretch mesh dress is light enough for a summer evening party. The entire dress is beaded to provide that sparkle. Walk into the party wearing this beautiful Etro jacket.  The taupe wrap jacket with the orange trim is simple and understated. Set off the light orange in the jacket with these stunning brown and orange Emilio Pucci multi-strap sandals. Like I said, stand out without the fuss. Its is all about the right clothes and shoes.

Alice+Olivia silver dress - $495

Etro wrap jacket - $1880

Emilio Pucci multi strap sandals - $770

Home run...

Yes.. Still no sign of the sun. So here you go with an outfit loaded with fall colours. Burgundy is a very rich colour. A dress which flaunts burgundy could be made richer by addition of suitable accessories in the same colour.

This beautiful baseball inspired Isabel Marant cotton jersey dress is brought alive by the fun red and white stripes. Take a cue from the stripes and pair it with these Suede "Rebel" Diane Von Furstenberg ankle strap sandals. The chunky heels go well with the bold stripes of the dress. Sharpen the look with this luxe Prada "Runway to Green" bag in a rich cherry-red. Makes this a home run for a workday.

Isabel Marant striped dress - $264
Diane Von Furstenberg burgundy sandals - $280
Prada Cherry-Red textured tote - $2595

Electric Jolt...

Its started heavily raining where I live and I've discarded three very summery posts in consequence. Cold it maybe but my lust for colour never dies down. Here is one way to cover up without drowning in black.

For those of you who bought these "Something blue" Manolo Blahniks, this is a great time to get them out. The stunning electric blue and black two-toned jacket makes a perfect showcase for those blue heels. The model wears it with an electric blue halter top but I would go a quieter route with this black wool-crepe dress from Michael Kors. With the dress and two toned blazer, the pointy Bow - embellished Valentino clutch ought to keep the look interesting. An all black avatar with some jolts of electric blue.

Manolo Blahnik "Something Blue" pumps - $945
Haider Ackermann two tone jacket - $966
Michael Kors black dress - $ 1595
Valentino clutch - $795
